Sam is a former red-top sports journalist with thirty years of experience covering football, boxing and rugby. A chance encounter with a neighbour in a Drumcondra pub sparked a genuine fascination with pigeon racing. In 2024 Sam began following the ISRF season and writing about the sport. Unfortunately other priorities took over and Sam needed to take a break from journalism. But now he's back -- and the pigeons kept flying without him. He brings you the human -- and the pigeon -- stories behind the results.
