Now the Donnycarney membership has risen to 34 members.. The average club birdage is 600 per week for in-land racing now and there's no doubt the club will become one of the strongest clubs in the ISRF. 316 Irish South Road Fed members sent 5729 birds to Skibbereen on August 10th and the birds were liberated at 9.45 am. G. DALY & SON were 1st club competing against 574 birds , 1st N section , 1st Fed. The winning bird was bred by his friend Gerry O Mara who also topped the fed himself this year. Gerry has raced pigeons all his life and has won many races from the short races to the longer channel races including France. Gerry does not mess about with his birds and expects all his birds that he winters to earn their perch. Gerry takes an active part in running his club and the ISRF. He is also involved with the show society which runs a charity show every year in Dublin. Gerry wishes the Donnycarney club and the ISRF all the best in the future.
