The Donnycarney club was allways a strong club in the ISRF but this year the majority of the Dublin Homing Club members joined the Donnycarney club as a result of the D H C being disbanded. DANIEL BROS are a partnership of Charley and Peter ,Daniel with Charley's son James and brother-in-law, Carl Mcguirk. They are racing in the Donnycarney club for 30 years and have won the club averages on many occasions in the last 10 years, winning the O B and combined club averages 2012 and have topped the ISRF four times in the last 10 years.. They have won 5 club races in 2012 and 2 club wins so far this year. DANIEL BROS keep 40 widows racing an average of 20 per week. They race the hen as YB and race pure widow as OB not racing the hens . Three pair of stock bird are kept and most of the 40 YB bred are off the widow cocks. There is no training after the first race and the birds are flying out up to one hour around the house twice a day .If any of the birds are not right on race day they are not sent. It is their intention to race widowhood right out to France. The main line of birds are from the late Terrance O Brine of Cabra ISRF which they bought 10 years ago and bought some more at Terrances clearance sale. The first bird in Mallow was 3 rd fed 10317 birds and 6th fed 9415 also 3 first clubs 2012 . The second bird nest mate 5 fed 7750 birds and 75 th fed 8700 birds Third fed bird has 6 seconds and fed cards also. These birds perform generally in north winds but this time the fast race suited them . The partnership are very reluctant to introduce a cross strain and they are happy using this system of breeding and racing pigeons going forward. As you can see its hard to beat a god system with good pigeons Top club this week : Sarsfield 835 points Top fancier this week J BRADY & SON 268 POINTS M Roche pro I S R F |
