Tara Lofts  DD & T Killeen race in the Finglas RPC. The Finglas club, which has 34 members, are one of the top clubs in the averages shield in the I.S.R.F many times. This is the third fed topper in this club so far this year. The Finglas club race 600 to 800 birds every week during the racing season.

The ISRF liberated 5971 birds at 7:00am in Pilmore beach on June 15th and D D & t Killeen have topped the Finglas club with a velocity of 2047.666 y/m and also topped the ISRF against 421 ISRF members - flying 122 miles, 46 yards from Pilmore beach With a one year old cock.

D D & T Killeen have been racing pigeons for generations in the Sarsfield club where Declan, father J Killeen and brother Brian are still Racing today.

Declan is 50 years racing and moved to Finglas 14 years ago with his wife Deride and daughter Tara. Declan's wife and daughter take a great part in the keeping and racing of the birds. D D & T Killeen have won many club race and topped the federation numerous times, and there is not a fed or club position that they have not taken over the years.

This is the first race this year for the Fed winner due to having been injured at the start of the racing season. The main line of pigeons are Sootjen, six pair got from T Nelson originated from Sam Buckley and are 90% of the loft now.

The Killeen family race pure Widowhood and train the cocks during the week. Normally 20 cocks are raced but due to very little losses last year 40 were raced this year. Forty young birds are kept and raced, with the best hens maintained as stock or widowhood hens.

Declan wants to take this opportunity to tank T Nelson for all his advice and encouragement over the years. T Nelson was the top flyer in the ISRF and now races in the East Coast Federation where he is one of the top fliers to this day.

TOP CLUB THIS WEEK: SARSFIELD with 774 POINTS. TOP FANCIER THIS WEEK: M MCMANUS with 422 POINTS.
