C. Brennan & Son   C Brennan is a member of the Cabra Club since 1972 - one of the strongest clubs in the ISRF with a membership of 50 and an average weekly bridge 600. This club is in the top 5 clubs in the ISRF every year and has won the ISRF averages shield on many occasions. C Brennan & Son have taken an active role in the running of the sport over the years as a committee member of the Cabre club and of the ISRF.

This partnership has topped the ISRF five times over the last ten years. The yearling cock has topped the Cabra club ,Section F of the ISRF and also the ISRF open form Sennencove with a winning velociety 1050.805 y/min with over 2000 birds sent. This is the first time for the partnership to win an open after having  hit the cross bar with two 2nd opens from Barleycone in the past.

This is a GB gift bird from J and S  Ward Oldham UK. The strain is a perter vanverd de merwe crossed  with a schaerlackens. Other birds have scored before from this loft in the past also. This open winner has scored before, 22nd open Barelycove YB 4000 Birds approx, 48th Fed Skibbereen OB 8800 birds, and 66th Fed  at Mallow OB where 8000 birds were released.

C Brennan & Son sent 21 birds and won 5 positions in the first 100 in the Open - 1st, 5th, 35th, 60th and 76th. This was the birds first channel race and races on the round about where 50 bird per week are raced every week when possible. The main strain in this loft are Ron Williamson NIR birds.

Twenty pair of stock pigeons are kept and most of the young birds are bred from them and generally no birds are bred from the racing team.

C Brennan & Son would like to thank Paul (Mr Motivator) Gregg for his encouragement and Stuart Ward UK for breeding this bird.

This OPEN winner shows its hard to beat a good racing pigeon and no doubt this partnership will have further successes in the future. The ISRF committee wish them well .

M Roche pro. ISRF.
