![]() Pilmore Beach May 25th ... the birds were liberated at 9 .30 am in a SS E wind at the ISRF OB race. A J Mc Mahon were 1 st with a velocity 1658.625 y/min, 2nd and 14th in a race where 549 members sent 10227 birds. A J Mc Mahon race in the Clondalkin R P C which has a club membership of 45 members. The Clondalkin R P C is becoming one of the strongest racing clubs in the Irish South Road Federation in the last few years with average club birdage of 500 to 700 birds racing per week. A J Mc Mahon have been racing pigeons for the last 20 years, and they race a small team of birds generally 10 to 20 max The Cocks are raced on pure widow with no training during the racing season generally and only racing the hens as Y B. They won two club races and two seconds club, and also eight fed cards last year with the third pigeon in this Pilmore result. The birds are mainly Paddy Martin Jansen but due to in-breeding over the last 10 years around one good racing cock a cross from Alan Best (Tallaght I S R F ) has worked well. A J Mc Mahon is clocking and scoring with them on the channel races and inland races to Dublin as well. The Grand father of the fed winner had four firsts and also topped the I S R F. One of the crosses from Alan Best was off Alans top fed also This shows that good racing blood lines will show up in time and you do not need lots of birds to win races at the highest levels. Top club this week in the I S R F is the SARSFIELD club with 1816 points and top fancier this week is T DANIEL with 324 points. On behalf of the I S R F committee I wish the members the best of luck in the coming season M Roche Pro I S R F |
