Gerry O Mara and his father Bill are members of the Irish South Road Federation for the past 30 years. Gerry is also a member of the Kildonagh club with a membership of 27. ![]() This Saturday (20/04/2013) the IS R F liberated from Thurles in a S W wind and Gerry's blue hen IHU 12 S 15876 topped the club and the IS R F with a velocity of 1888.204 y/min over a distance of 85 miles 229 yards. A total of 9901 birds were sent by 455 members to Thurles, so Gerry had a lot of competition. The dame and sire are stock birds and the hen is well bred with her sire previously breeding three 1st fed winners and an Open winner while her dame bred four 1st fed winners. It just goes to show that good racing blood lines are hard to beat. Gerry is one or the strongest in land flyers in the ISRF. This is the 30th time that he has topped the ISRF results. Also I should say congratulations to J Brady & Son who got the most points - 418 in the race of 100 ISRF positions, and to the Dublin North East club getting the most weekly points with 915 points. ![]() You can follow video footage of the ISRF liberation sites at Thurles and Pilmore beach 2013 from the PigeonLink Channel at YouTube.. Till next week. M Roche Pro ISRF |
